Head of IT Transformation

About the role

The Head of IT Transformation will lead the digital platform strategy, software engineering and data analytics for a healthcare organisation in South Dublin. Reporting to the CIO, this senior leader will shape a scalable, secure and compliant technology landscape that supports clinical and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Define and deliver the digital platform, application and data strategies.
• Provide technical leadership across architecture, platform design and development standards.
• Identify and implement AI and automation opportunities.
• Oversee data platforms and promote predictive analytics adoption.
• Embed security, data protection and compliance (GDPR, NIS2) into all development processes.
• Guide solution design and architecture across projects.
• Own budget and resource planning for platforms, development and analytics.

Required profile

• 10+ years in software engineering or platform architecture, with senior leadership (Head/Director) experience.
• Proven track record leading data or software engineering teams using Agile, DevOps and CI/CD.
• Experience delivering AI‑driven automation and advanced analytics solutions.
• Background in enterprise system integration and strong IT programme/project management.
• Understanding of hospital operations or EHR systems is desirable.
