Head of Operations – Manufacturing (Ireland/UK)

About the role

The company, a leading manufacturer of special‑purpose machinery, is seeking a Head of Operations to join its Senior Leadership Team. Based in Ireland with regular travel to UK sites, the role will shape and execute the operational strategy across multiple manufacturing facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a unified operational strategy for Irish and UK manufacturing sites.
• Drive standardisation, scalability and best‑practice adoption across all operational functions.
• Collaborate closely with the Managing Director, senior leaders and department heads (Projects, Design, Manufacturing, Installation & Commissioning, Service).
• Monitor performance metrics, ensure alignment with business goals and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare for future progression into an Operations Director position.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Operations Manager, Head of Operations or Operations Director in a multi‑site manufacturing environment.
• Ability to spend up to a week at a time in the UK on a regular basis.
• Experience in technical product or machinery manufacturing, especially within regulated sectors (pharmaceutical, food, beverage, FMCG) is a plus.
