Healthcare Assistant – Home Care Support

About the role
The Healthcare Assistant will support service users in their own homes, helping them with daily personal care, mobility and wellbeing while respecting their dignity and promoting independence.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with morning and evening routines, including dressing, washing, bathing and toileting.
- Support mobility, manage incontinence and use personal aids or equipment.
- Provide care for temporarily sick or terminally ill service users.
- Encourage mental and physical activity through conversation, outings, reading, writing and hobbies.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as making beds, cleaning, emptying commodes and tidying.
- Prepare and serve light meals, set tables, clear away and wash up.
- Write reports, take part in service‑user reviews and report any significant health changes.
- Follow all Caremark policies and procedures and promote user independence wherever possible.
Required profile
- Self‑motivated, well‑organized and flexible.
- Caring, sensitive to others’ needs and able to use initiative.
- Effective communicator with a genuine desire to help.
