Healthcare Assistant – Person‑Centred Care

About the role

Aurora is seeking compassionate Healthcare Assistants to join its Kilkenny team. You will provide person‑centred support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, helping them live enriched and independent lives in their own homes and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal care such as bathing, toileting and feeding.
• Promote independence by supporting routine tasks and encouraging self‑direction.
• Facilitate social outings, community participation and recreational activities.
• Prepare meals, maintain a safe and clean environment, and support household management.
• Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Resident in Ireland with the right to work.
• QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support (all eight modules completed).
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities (graduates welcome).
• Full Irish manual driving licence and willingness to drive Aurora vehicles.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational abilities.
• Availability for flexible shifts, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
