Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join the IT Service Operations team. The role is hands‑on and focuses on supporting and enhancing core infrastructure, Microsoft 365 services, network operations and security platforms to deliver reliable and high‑performing IT services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft 365 components including Exchange Online, Entra ID and Intune.
• Manage Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms and cloud infrastructure.
• Support networking and firewall technologies, notably Cisco and Palo Alto solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, network and Microsoft 365 issues.
• Lead infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.
• Coordinate with external service providers and support partners to ensure effective service delivery.
• Maintain security controls through monitoring, vulnerability management and patching.
• Conduct disaster‑recovery testing and keep technical documentation up to date.
• Contribute to continuous service improvement and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Third‑level qualification in Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering or IT operations.
• Strong experience administering Microsoft 365 and related systems.
• Good understanding of networking, firewalls, cloud platforms and security best practices.
• Experience in a regulated environment is advantageous.
• Relevant certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ‑104), Intune Administrator (MD‑102), Cisco CCNA, Palo Alto PCNSA, CompTIA Security+ or ITIL 4 Foundation are desirable.
