International Financial Accountant – Fixed Term (12 months)

About the role

Proofpoint is seeking an International Financial Accountant to join its fast‑paced, high‑performing accounting team. The role focuses on European and LATAM subsidiaries and offers a 12‑month fixed‑term contract with opportunities for career growth as the company expands globally.

Key responsibilities

• Execute month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close procedures, including account reconciliations and roll‑forward schedules.
• Prepare journal entries based on supporting reconciliations and schedules.
• Manage general ledger tasks such as monthly management reporting, accounting for international subsidiaries, and accruals.
• Produce balance‑sheet and income‑statement variance analyses for management.
• Support procure‑to‑pay processes and annual subsidiary audits where applicable.
• Assist finance SOX compliance activities and lead process‑improvement projects with cross‑functional teams.
• Deliver ad‑hoc projects as required.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with a recognised accounting qualification.
• Experience in general accounting, preferably in industry or a public accounting firm.
• Exposure to international subsidiaries is a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP is advantageous.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent analytical and prioritisation skills.
• Effective communication across diverse audiences.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Knowledge of US GAAP principles.
