IT Desktop Support Technician – Weekend Shift

About the role

We are looking for a proactive IT Desktop Support Technician to provide on‑site technical assistance for desktops, laptops, peripherals and network devices. The position is based in Clonmel and requires weekend coverage with rotating night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site hardware, software and OS troubleshooting while respecting warranties and security policies.
• Install, diagnose and repair desktops, laptops, printers and other peripherals.
• Provide desk‑side break/fix services for Windows and, where possible, macOS/Linux environments.
• Perform Smart Hands tasks on routers, switches, wireless routers, firewalls, racks, cabinets and data termination panels.
• Assist with basic LAN/WAN concepts and networking tasks under instruction.
• Resolve end‑user connectivity issues (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, RDP).
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of recurring problems and contribute to preventive actions.
• Maintain accurate ticket updates in ServiceNow or Remedy.
• Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams while managing workload independently.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT field or desktop support.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lb.
• Associate degree in electronics or related field (preferred).
• CompTIA A+ or OEM certifications (preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑driven, result‑oriented and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
