IT Operational Governance & Continuous Improvement Lead

About the role

EirGrid is seeking an experienced professional to lead operational governance and continuous improvement across its Technology Services Group. The role ensures that the IT systems supporting Ireland’s electricity grid and market are resilient, audit‑ready, and constantly evolving.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and evolve governance frameworks for IT service management, operational risk, compliance and assurance.
• Advise senior leadership on governance, risk posture and control maturity aligned with industry standards.
• Establish a structured continuous‑improvement capability using data, KPIs and lessons learned.
• Define outcome‑focused operational KPIs and service health metrics to support executive decision‑making.
• Ensure IT operations meet regulatory, legislative and policy obligations.
• Promote a culture of accountability and operational excellence across IT teams.

Required profile

• Proven track record of establishing and embedding governance and measurable continuous improvement within a technology function.
