Junior Consultant – Data Center & Network Engineer (CCNA)

About the role

Island Networks is looking for a Junior Consultant to join its Professional Services team. You will gain hands‑on experience with cloud, data‑center, storage and networking technologies while supporting both pre‑sales and post‑sales engagements for enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing storage and network architectures based on business requirements.
• Support implementation of SAN and NAS solutions, including NetApp systems.
• Configure and deploy routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and VPNs under supervision.
• Perform rack‑and‑stack, structured cabling (copper and fiber), patching and labeling tasks.
• Help with storage provisioning, capacity planning, performance monitoring and backup/disaster‑recovery processes.
• Monitor LAN, WAN and WLAN performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues and update documentation.
• Maintain accurate asset inventories, rack elevations and port mappings.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Basic understanding of data‑center operations and networking concepts.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior engineers and internal teams.

Required skills

• CCNA certification or equivalent networking knowledge.
• Familiarity with SAN, NAS and NetApp storage platforms.
• Experience (or coursework) with routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and VPNs.
• Knowledge of LAN, WAN, WLAN technologies.
• Understanding of structured cabling, fiber and copper connections.
• Basic backup and disaster‑recovery concepts.
