Junior Laboratory Technician

About the role

General Paints Group is seeking a Junior Laboratory Technician to join its Technical Team in Ireland. You will support product quality, innovation and continuous improvement across our paint manufacturing operations. This is an entry‑level position ideal for candidates with a science background who are eager to develop hands‑on laboratory skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory research, product development and testing activities.
• Carry out quality control testing on production batches.
• Prepare reports, analyse results and support technical projects.
• Contribute to formulation improvements and manufacturing efficiencies.
• Conduct laboratory testing and analysis of products and raw materials.
• Collaborate closely with the Laboratory Manager, Technical Team and Operations Teams.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives within a Lean 5S environment.

Required profile

• Qualification in Science (certificate or diploma).
• Genuine interest in laboratory work, manufacturing and product development.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast‑paced team.
