Laboratory IT Specialist

About the role

The Laboratory IT Specialist will provide technical support for QC laboratory systems, ensuring that workflows for manufacturing, stability, method transfer and non‑routine testing meet regulatory and business requirements. This hybrid, 12‑month contract role partners with laboratory staff, IT, analytical support and Quality Assurance to maintain compliant, efficient lab processes.

Key responsibilities

• Create, maintain and review master/static data in current and future lab systems, following change‑management procedures.
• Support change‑control reviews, assess system impact, and implement required actions, including interfacing with MES and trending systems.
• Execute and document change controls, verify changes made by team members, and conduct User Acceptance Testing.
• Collaborate with laboratory, manufacturing, analytical and IT teams to capture accurate requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase compliance and operational efficiency, such as testing queue visibility and metric monitoring.
• Develop and maintain procedural documents (SOPs, work instructions) and associated training content.

Required profile

• Experience working with QC laboratory information systems and related change‑control processes.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical testing requirements and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with laboratory, IT and quality teams.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

• Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and data integration.
