Lead Customer Engineer - Install Coordinator

About the role

As a Lead Customer Engineer focused on Installation and Ramp activities, you will play a key role in bringing some of the world’s most advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment into production. You will work closely with customers, engineering teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure successful equipment startup and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead equipment installation, startup, qualification, and ramp activities at customer sites.
• Serve as the primary customer‑facing technical lead during critical installation and ramp phases.
• Coordinate cross‑functional activities across engineering, service, operations, and customer teams to meet project milestones.
• Drive issue resolution, escalation management, and troubleshooting to minimise risk and downtime.
• Monitor project progress and align resources, priorities, and schedules for successful execution.
• Champion Applied Materials’ safety, quality, and operational standards.
• Identify continuous‑improvement opportunities and share best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Customer Engineers and field service teams.

Required profile

• Experience in semiconductor, field service, advanced manufacturing, capital equipment, or similar high‑tech engineering environments.
• Strong background supporting equipment installation, startup, qualification, ramp, or manufacturing operations.
• Proven ability to coordinate cross‑functional activities and deliver against demanding customer milestones.
• Excellent customer‑facing communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Track record of technical troubleshooting and structured problem solving.
• Experience leading teams, projects, or major workstreams in a fast‑paced setting.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Flexibility to travel occasionally and support out‑of‑hours business requirements.
