About the role
The University of Galway invites applications for up to two full‑time Lecturer positions in Computer Science. Each appointment will focus on a distinct specialism – either Cybersecurity / Secure DevOps or Next‑Generation Hardware / Network Architectures – and will contribute to the School’s research‑intensive and teaching‑focused mission.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate lectures, labs and tutorials in the chosen specialism.
- Supervise student projects, dissertations and PhD candidates.
- Lead and develop a research programme, acting as principal investigator on large‑scale, externally funded projects.
- Attract competitive R&D funding from bodies such as Research Ireland and the European Research Council.
- Build national and international collaborations with academic and industry partners.
- Publish research findings in peer‑reviewed journals, high‑impact conferences and workshops.
- Participate in programme administration and curriculum development.
Required profile
- Demonstrated world‑class research record or strong potential based on industry experience.
- Verified evidence of teaching excellence at the university level.
- Clear commitment to the selected specialism (Cybersecurity / Secure DevOps or Hardware / Network Architecture).
- Ability to lead research groups and supervise junior researchers.
