Lecturer in Computer Science – Full‑Time Permanent

About the role
The University of Galway invites applications for up to two full‑time permanent Lecturer positions in Computer Science. Each appointment will focus on either Cybersecurity/Secure DevOps or Next Generation Hardware/Network Architectures, contributing to the School’s research and teaching excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the chosen specialism.
- Supervise student projects and theses.
- Lead and manage research groups, acting as principal investigator on large‑scale externally funded projects.
- Develop and secure research funding from bodies such as Research Ireland and the European Research Council.
- Establish national and international collaborations with academia and industry.
- Disseminate research findings through peer‑reviewed journals, high‑impact conferences and workshops.
- Participate in programme administration and contribute to the School’s strategic vision.
Required profile
- Demonstrated world‑class research record or strong potential based on industry experience.
- Verified excellence in teaching at the university level.
- Expertise in one of the two specialisms and a clear plan for future research development.
- Ability to attract and manage significant research funding.
- Commitment to building collaborative networks across academia and industry.
