Lecturer / Senior Lecturer – Systems

About the role

The School of Computer Science and Engineering at UNSW is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to lead teaching and research in modern computing systems. You will help shape the next generation of computing professionals while advancing the School’s research profile.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑impact research in operating systems, distributed systems, system security and AI‑enabled systems.
• Secure competitive research funding and publish scholarly work.
• Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, develop curricula and assess student performance.
• Supervise higher‑degree research students and mentor junior staff.
• Engage with industry partners and contribute to the School’s strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong track record in systems research (for Senior Lecturer) or potential to develop a research profile (for Lecturer).
• Evidence of teaching excellence and curriculum development.
• Ability to obtain external research funding and collaborate across disciplines.
