Legal Counsel – Renewable Energy (Junior)

About the role

Greenvolt Next is seeking a junior solicitor to provide practical legal support for its renewable energy and infrastructure projects in Ireland. The role involves drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements, advising on regulatory matters, and supporting employment law issues while working closely with senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and legal documentation.
• Provide commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders.
• Support strategic business initiatives and key commercial projects alongside senior management.
• Assist with legal matters related to renewable energy and infrastructure projects, primarily in Ireland.
• Handle employment law issues and related business initiatives.
• Identify, assess and manage legal risks across the organisation.
• Liaise with external legal advisers in Ireland and the UK.
• Support dispute management, regulatory matters and governance activities.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the business.
• Contribute to broader risk management and compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor in Ireland with a law degree (LLB, JD or equivalent).
• 2–5 years post‑qualification experience in a commercial legal environment (private practice or in‑house).
• Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Demonstrated ability to give practical, business‑oriented legal advice to senior leaders.
• Knowledge of renewable energy, construction, infrastructure or project development sectors is highly desirable.
• Experience with employment law matters and managing external advisers.
• Proven track record of identifying and mitigating legal and commercial risks.
