Legal Officer – Asset Management

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Officer to join a fast‑growing ManCo in Dublin, part of a leading asset‑management group. The role provides comprehensive legal support throughout the fund lifecycle, from launch to ongoing governance, ensuring regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on the creation and launch of new sub‑funds and products.
• Assess and advise senior management and fund boards on legal risks and mitigation strategies.
• Monitor legal developments and advise on strategic responses.
• Support regulatory change projects and advise on governance approaches.
• Draft, negotiate and amend commercial and financial services agreements, including intercompany arrangements.
• Review and update internal policies and procedures.
• Oversee external company secretariat and governance matters for the firm and its fund ranges.
• Report to boards and senior management on legal, regulatory and governance issues.
• Manage external counsel and control the legal budget.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law.
• 5‑6+ years of legal experience within the asset‑management industry.
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration and management abilities in an international, multicultural environment.
• Adaptability to rapidly changing priorities and ambiguous situations.
• Fluent in English and Italian.

Required skills

• Legal drafting and negotiation of commercial and financial agreements.
• Knowledge of fund structures, regulatory frameworks and governance best practices.
• Experience managing external counsel and legal budgets.
