Locum Consultant Physician – Respiratory Medicine (0.5 WTE)

About the role

Beaumont Hospital, a leading academic teaching centre in Dublin, is seeking a Locum Consultant Physician to join its Respiratory Medicine team on a 0.5 WTE basis. This temporary appointment runs until 31 December 2026 and offers the chance to work within a multidisciplinary environment serving a community of approximately 290,000 people.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist respiratory and general internal medicine services to in‑patients and out‑patients.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds and emergency on‑call duties.
• Contribute to teaching activities for junior doctors and medical students.
• Engage in clinical audit, research initiatives and quality‑improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with hospital policies.

Required profile

• Full registration on the Specialist Division of the Irish Medical Register.
• Qualified in Respiratory Medicine and General (Internal) Medicine.
• Experience at consultant level or equivalent senior clinical experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a large teaching hospital.
