Locum General Surgery (NCHD / SHO / Registrar)

About the role

Global Medics is recruiting NCHD doctors (SHO / Registrar) for locum positions in General Surgery across Ireland, including Dublin. Doctors will join consultant-led surgical teams in a supportive, fast-paced environment, gaining experience and flexible work while contributing to high-quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with emergency and elective general surgery procedures
• Take part in ward rounds, pre-operative assessments and post-operative reviews
• Support outpatient clinics and theatre lists under consultant supervision
• Contribute to diagnostics, treatment planning and discharge coordination
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE governance

Required profile

• Registered with the Irish Medical Council (IMC)
• Eligible to work in Ireland (Irish/UK/EU passport or Stamp 4 or Stamp 1G visa)
• Experience as an NCHD (SHO and Registrar) in General Surgery or equivalent
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy clinical environment
• Commitment to continuous learning and high standards of patient care
