Logistics Specialist – 18‑Month Fixed‑Term Role

About the role

We are seeking a Logistics Specialist to join our UK operations on an 18‑month fixed‑term contract. The specialist will serve as the first point of contact and subject‑matter expert for logistics operations, handling SAP transaction support, inventory accuracy, system‑interface issues and third‑party logistics escalations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily flows across SAP, WMS, TMS and EDI, addressing interface exceptions, IDoc failures, order updates and inventory postings.
• Collaborate with 3PL providers and internal teams to meet SLAs, KPIs and quality expectations.
• Maintain high SAP inventory accuracy through issue investigation, stock reconciliation and batch integrity checks.
• Analyse operational data using Power BI, advanced Excel and other tools to identify trends, root causes and improvement opportunities.
• Lead root‑cause analyses, corrective actions, process mapping and Lean continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Support GDP‑compliant distribution, SOP adherence, deviation handling and audit‑readiness.
• Act as functional expert for distribution processes, WMS/TMS workflows, EDI management and SAP logistics execution.
• Partner with IT, Quality, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance and external partners to resolve cross‑functional gaps.
• Assist with system changes, testing, user‑acceptance, documentation and training for SAP, WMS, TMS and EDI.
• Apply digital and automation tools, including AI‑enabled productivity solutions, to enhance visibility and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Science or a related field (beneficial but not mandatory).
• Strong experience with Power BI, Power Query, advanced Excel and data‑visualisation/dashboard development.
• Hands‑on experience with WMS, TMS, EDI, IDoc monitoring and interface troubleshooting.
