Maintenance Supervisor – Lead Technician

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor / Lead Technician to lead our maintenance team in Cork. The role combines hands‑on technical work with leadership, ensuring plant equipment and utilities run safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and allocate daily tasks for the maintenance team, ensuring timely, high‑quality completion.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and utility systems.
• Diagnose, repair or replace faulty components to minimise downtime.
• Plan and coordinate shutdown work with production to limit operational disruption.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality and QESH teams to align maintenance with site goals.
• Manage external contractors, enforcing safety procedures and company policies.
• Conduct risk assessments and uphold strict site safety protocols.
• Participate in safety and technical meetings to drive continuous improvement.
• Support 5S and Lean manufacturing initiatives across the site.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in the site system.

Required profile

• Mechanical and electrical trade qualification or equivalent experience.
• Safe Pass certification (essential).
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience, with supervisory or team‑lead responsibilities.
• Experience in food, pharma or commercial laundry environments is an advantage.
• Additional certifications such as Manual Handling, Forklift Licence, Lockout/Tagout, First Aid or Fire Warden are desirable.
