About the role

Yugo, a global student housing provider, is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Central Cork. The role keeps student residences safe, functional and well presented, and is based mainly in Lee Point while floating between Lee Point, Amnis House, Melbourn Point and Bottleworks on Saturdays. It is a 20-hour-per-week position (Thursday to Saturday) at €16,068 per annum.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (daily plant room checks, weekly flushing, water hygiene monitoring, showerhead descaling) and routine inspections of plant rooms, clusters, bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas.
  • Identify issues, complete minor repairs and escalate defects needing further investigation.
  • Respond to resident and site team requests, prioritising work against agreed SLAs, and carry out minor plumbing, painting, carpentry, fixture and fitting repairs and light electrical work.
  • Use CAFM systems to manage work orders, record PPM completion and track outstanding repairs, and monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) for alarms and faults.
  • Maintain compliance records, inspection reports and handovers, and follow health and safety procedures.
  • Keep plant rooms, stores and external areas clean and safe, liaise with contractors and support room inspections, summer turnarounds and preparation for new students.

Required profile

  • At least 1 year of practical maintenance experience in accommodation, facilities management or property maintenance.
  • Minor plumbing experience required; carpentry, painting and general building repair is a plus.
  • Understanding of planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and building compliance routines.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland on a 20-hour week, Thursday to Saturday, with occasional evening or weekend work.
  • Experience in occupied properties and dealing with residents, contractors or inspection teams is highly valued.

Required skills

  • Confidence with digital maintenance systems such as CAFM; knowledge of BMS is an advantage.
  • Good fault-finding, organisation and problem-solving skills, able to prioritise and work independently.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety and attention to detail.

What we offer

  • Paid time off and competitive annual leave.
  • Training and development.
  • Performance bonus.
  • Bike to Work scheme.
