Mechanical Design Engineer – Hybrid (Sligo, Ireland)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our in‑house Design Department in Sligo, Ireland. The role is hybrid, combining on‑site work with remote flexibility, and focuses on developing innovative processing and packaging line equipment for the food and FMCG sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop high‑quality mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Create detailed sheet‑metal and fabrication drawings for production.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers and cross‑functional teams to ensure projects meet time, budget and quality targets.
• Integrate automation technologies and bespoke solutions into product designs.
• Support the expansion of core product ranges and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical design, product or industrial design.
• Strong background with SolidWorks and sheet‑metal/fabrication design.
• Ability to work in a hybrid, site‑based environment.
• Experience in the food or FMCG equipment sector is beneficial but not mandatory.
