Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design Team in Ireland. You will work on a diverse portfolio of projects, supporting the full design lifecycle from concept through to final delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Senior Design Engineer and wider design team on end‑to‑end projects.
• Liaise with clients throughout concept, feasibility, detailed design, implementation and delivery phases.
• Maintain compliance with specifications and engineering best practices.
• Serve as the technical point of contact for project issues.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Design Leads and Sub‑Consultants at each project stage.
• Perform detailed design calculations and equipment selections.
• Work with the drawing team to develop P&IDs and design drawings.
• Provide guidance on equipment selection and support procurement activities.
• Ensure project documentation follows the Project Quality Plan and specific requirements.

Required profile

• Level 7/8/9 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in water, pumping/piping, fluid handling or oil & gas sectors (desirable).
• Ability to work independently and manage design coordination.
