Mechanical Design Engineer – Packaging

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our packaging team. You will support both new and existing projects, ensuring designs meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Report to the Packaging Team Lead and collaborate with test, design, sales, production, and logistics teams.
• Plan, prioritize, and execute the Design Centre work schedule, guaranteeing sample quality.
• Manage documentation for engineering change orders, tooling layouts, quotes, and production drawings.
• Create or modify artwork and accompany sales representatives on customer site visits.
• Oversee Design Centre updates, stock levels, lab presentation, and waste management.
• Implement quality‑control systems and ensure compliance with ISO quality, environmental, health and safety standards.
• Support maintenance, calibration, and software updates of test‑lab and design‑centre equipment.
• Assist with CAD Table Operative training and collaborate on projects with the US team.
• Attend relevant training sessions and perform additional duties as required.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in a design or engineering role, preferably within packaging or a related industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software with strong attention to documentation control.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
