Mechanical Supervisor

About the role

Mercury is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to lead the mechanical package on complex construction projects in Limerick. You will be responsible for safety, quality, scheduling and day‑to‑day site operations, working closely with the Safety Advisor, Mechanical Package Manager and other trade leads.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site safety in partnership with the Mercury Safety Advisor, including set‑up, maintenance and close‑out of the safety file.
• Oversee site quality assurance together with the Mechanical Package Manager, handling the QA file from inception to completion.
• Coordinate the project schedule with other trades, package leads, consulting engineers and the client.
• Control all costs related to the mechanical package, including subcontractor labour, material deliveries, plant and equipment, variations and valuations.
• Direct day‑to‑day on‑site operations and supervise subcontractor activities, ensuring progress against schedule and manpower levels.
• Maintain the Mercury “In Progress” snagging system and issue weekly punch‑list updates.
• Provide labour hour data to the time administrator and attend all relevant site and project meetings.
• Prepare weekly look‑ahead plans, progress reports and risk updates, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Close out project documentation such as O&M manuals, punch lists, safety and QA files.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing site safety and quality assurance on mechanical construction packages.
• Strong knowledge of construction scheduling and coordination with multiple trades.
• Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractor performance, cost control and material logistics.
• Excellent organisational skills with a focus on documentation and reporting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, clients and internal project teams.
