MEP Lead – Heritage Restoration Project

About the role

The MEP Lead will join a leading Irish construction contractor’s MEP Business Unit, working on a large heritage restoration project in Dublin city centre. Reporting to the MEP Director, the role combines site safety, quality, schedule and cost management to ensure successful delivery of the mechanical package.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site safety in collaboration with the project team and Safety Advisor, including set‑up and closure of the safety file.
• Lead a team of engineers and supervisors, coordinating with other disciplines to avoid schedule impacts.
• Oversee site quality assurance for the mechanical package, maintaining QA documentation from start to close‑out.
• Control the project schedule, costs (labour, material, plant, variations) and daily site operations.
• Monitor sub‑contractor performance, progress, manpower and weekly meetings, and maintain the “In Progress” snagging system.
• Prepare and submit internal weekly progress reports, highlighting delays, risks and percentage complete.
• Ensure all sub‑contractor documentation, including safety records, is up‑to‑date and filed.
• Close out the project – final account, O&M manuals, punch list, safety and QA files – with support from the site project manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading MEP teams on complex construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of site safety, quality assurance and mechanical engineering standards.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules and subcontractor relationships.
• Excellent organisational and reporting skills.
