Mobile Service Engineer (Field-Based)

About the role

Dawsongroup EMC is seeking an experienced Mobile Service Engineer to support customers across Dublin and County Kildare. You will work independently on a variety of specialist municipal and civil equipment, ensuring essential services stay operational.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, service and inspect a wide range of specialist vehicles such as sweepers, refuse collection vehicles, tankers, tippers, grabs, forklifts and other utility equipment.
• Attend breakdowns and service calls promptly to minimise customer downtime.
• Complete PMI inspections and maintain accurate electronic work records using PDA systems.
• Manage daily schedule, workload and stock levels from your company vehicle.

Required profile

• Current experience as a Mobile Engineer, Plant Fitter, HGV Technician, Agricultural Engineer or Service Engineer, or transferable heavy‑equipment experience.
• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Plant, HGV, Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
• Full driving licence; Class 2 HGV licence is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and ability to work safely and independently.
