National Account Manager – Retail (Ireland)

About the role

This senior commercial leadership position is responsible for driving growth across the retail division of a leading Irish‑owned food business. You will manage relationships with Ireland’s biggest grocery and convenience retailers, develop joint business plans and identify new commercial opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage strategic relationships with Ireland’s top grocery retailers and convenience groups.
• Develop and deliver Joint Business Plans that drive profitable growth.
• Lead annual commercial negotiations, including pricing, promotions and investment agreements.
• Identify new category, product and distribution opportunities within existing accounts.
• Secure new listings, promotional activity and improved shelf presence.
• Collaborate with Category teams to create compelling customer propositions using market insight.
• Deliver accurate sales forecasting and commercial planning.
• Monitor commercial performance, profitability and promotional ROI.
• Work with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Category and Technical teams to launch new products and initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven track record managing major grocery accounts within FMCG.
• Strong commercial mindset with a passion for negotiation and relationship building.
• Ability to spot market opportunities before competitors and develop strategic partnerships.
• Experience working with retailers such as Tesco Ireland, Dunnes Stores, Musgrave, BWG and convenience/wholesale groups.
• Background in frozen foods, chilled foods, grocery, branded FMCG or private‑label products.

• Base salary €85,000 – €90,000 per year plus performance bonus.
