National Press Officer – Early Childhood Advocacy

About the role

Join Early Childhood Ireland’s Policy, Advocacy and Campaigning team as a National Press Officer. You will help raise the organisation’s media profile, deliver the national media plan and promote the value of high‑quality Early Years and School Age Care across Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the agreed media plan to increase national visibility.
• Identify and secure media opportunities that highlight child‑centred practice and the benefits of quality early years care.
• Produce press releases, media statements and briefing materials.
• Maintain relationships with journalists, editors and media outlets.
• Monitor media coverage and report on impact.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Press Officer with a focus on media relations.
• 3rd‑level qualification in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or a related field.
• Initiative‑taking attitude with potential to lead when required.
• Strong communicator, organiser and collaborative team player.
• Passionate about creating positive change for children and society.

What we offer

• Salary range €38,315 – €45,159 per year, commensurate with experience.
• Full‑time permanent contract (subject to funding) with a six‑month probation period.
