Newly Qualified Accountant – Audit, Accounts & Tax

About the role

We are seeking a newly qualified accountant to join a boutique accountancy practice in Cork. This hybrid role offers exposure to audit, accounts preparation and tax work for a diverse portfolio of SME and owner‑managed clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with and lead audit engagements for SME clients.
• Prepare year‑end statutory financial statements in line with relevant accounting standards.
• Produce management accounts and financial reports across various sectors.
• Handle corporation tax, income tax and VAT returns for a diverse client base.
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, responding to queries promptly.
• Support senior team members on business advisory and compliance projects.
• Ensure all work complies with professional and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CPA accountant.
• Practice‑trained with experience in audit, accounts preparation and tax compliance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client‑focused approach.
• Excellent attention to detail and solid technical accounting knowledge.
• Motivated individual seeking long‑term career progression within a growing practice.
