Night Porter

About the role

The Night Porter ensures that guest needs are met promptly during overnight hours while maintaining security, fire safety, and the overall cleanliness of the hotel. This position reports to the Front Office Manager, Duty Manager and Director of Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Arrive on time in a clean, full uniform with name badge and professional appearance.
• Receive handover from daily porters, receptionists and manager on duty.
• Perform regular security and fire checks (e.g., at 12 am, 2 am, 4 am, 6 am) and log any irregularities.
• Check guests in and out efficiently, handling luggage promptly.
• Respond to guest enquiries and fulfill lounge/room‑service orders after 11 pm.
• Maintain kitchen, food‑preparation, and public‑area cleanliness according to night‑cleaning schedule.
• Collect breakfast cards, deliver early breakfasts, and manage bar service after bar staff leave, following cash and stock procedures.
• Prepare and refresh meeting rooms, ensure equipment works, and handle fax deliveries.
• Complete a detailed night‑shift report and hand over any incidents to the duty manager and day staff.

Required profile

• Fluent English communication.
• Strong customer‑service orientation.
• Ability to work night shifts and follow security/fire protocols.
• Professional appearance and punctuality.
