Payments Architect – Day Rate Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Payments Architect to lead the design and delivery of a secure, scalable and resilient payment platform as part of a major transformation programme. The role is based in Dublin and will be performed in a hybrid model on a day‑rate contract.

Key responsibilities

• Design end‑to‑end architecture for complex payment platforms.
• Define current‑state and target‑state architectures and create migration road‑maps.
• Support modernisation and integration of legacy payment systems.
• Provide architectural guidance across APIs, cloud platforms, data flows and legacy technologies.
• Ensure solutions meet security, regulatory, resilience and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, delivery, product and senior banking stakeholders.
• Manage architectural governance, technical risks and key design decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Payments or Solution Architect within a banking environment.
• Deep knowledge of payment platforms, processes and infrastructure.
• Hands‑on experience with SEPA, SWIFT, ISO 20022, instant and cross‑border payments.
• Strong understanding of API design, systems integration and modern architecture principles.
• Track record of delivering large‑scale transformation or modernisation programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
