Physician Associate MSc Teacher/Practitioner

About the role

The Teacher/Practitioner will join the MSc Physician Associate Studies programme at RCSI and Beaumont Hospital, collaborating with faculty and leadership to design and deliver pre‑clinical education. This temporary two‑year contract focuses on curriculum development, teaching, assessment, and student mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Design, sequence, and integrate the pre‑clinical curriculum in line with ARC‑PA competencies.
• Coordinate with inter‑departmental partners to deliver modules such as clinical medicine, pharmacotherapeutics, and clinical skills.
• Develop comprehensive timetables that balance workload and support progressive competency development.
• Create, implement, and evaluate assessment strategies that are valid, reliable, and transparent.
• Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based instruction using simulation, blended learning, and digital technologies.
• Monitor student performance, provide formative and summative feedback, and support remediation when needed.
• Serve as a clinical mentor and role model, promoting professionalism and interprofessional collaboration.

Required profile

• Qualified Physician Associate with a higher degree in a relevant discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in medical education, curriculum design, and assessment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with academic and clinical staff.
• Commitment to student development and lifelong learning.
