Principal Commercial Analyst – Strategic Business Insights

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Commercial Analyst to join a technology‑driven business and work closely with senior leadership. In this high‑visibility position you will combine strategic thinking, commercial insight and advanced analytics to shape commercial strategy and drive performance across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial performance analysis across markets, products and revenue streams.
• Identify trends, risks and opportunities to support strategic decision‑making.
• Deliver executive‑level reporting and performance insights for senior leadership.
• Partner with commercial and operational stakeholders to challenge assumptions and improve performance.
• Develop analytical frameworks and reporting methodologies that enhance decision‑making.
• Provide commercially focused recommendations that drive revenue growth and profitability.
• Support business planning, forecasting and performance reviews.
• Mentor and influence a wider analyst community, raising analytical standards across the organisation.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in a commercial, strategy, consulting or finance‑focused role.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with a proven track record of structuring complex business problems.
• Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of revenue, profitability and performance drivers.
• Experience presenting insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Proactive, curious and solutions‑oriented mindset.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or related discipline; professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA) desirable.
• Experience in technology, digital, eCommerce, travel or other fast‑paced commercial environments is a plus.
