Process Technician – Reagents & Utilities

About the role

We are looking for a Technician to ensure safe, efficient and continuous preparation, delivery and monitoring of process reagents and utilities that support plant operations. The role is onsite at Newmont’s mining facility and forms a key part of our production team.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the Lime Plant, cyanide mixing, CCD flocculent mixing, carbon addition, containment pond, seawater and raw water systems.
• Execute daily plans, inspections and routine schedules, promptly reporting any defects or hazards.
• Maintain housekeeping standards, follow SOPs and environmental guidelines.
• Apply reagent safety procedures, including proper PPE use and SDS handling.
• Conduct regular inspections of reagent facilities to ensure operational integrity and process efficiency.
• Participate in troubleshooting and optimisation activities.

Required profile

• Prior experience in gold processing or a similar heavy‑industry environment, or at least a Grade 10 education.
• Ability to work at heights, enter confined spaces and operate overhead cranes.
• Strong understanding of cyanide safety and reagent handling.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Capability to work both autonomously and as part of a diverse team.
• High attention to detail and effective time‑management.
