Procurement Category Manager – IPS Category Management

About the role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Procurement Category Manager to lead the IPS Procurement Category Management function. You will be responsible for sourcing, onboarding, and managing third‑party service providers that support our global data‑center infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for third‑party services across data‑center, colocation, and edge facilities.
• Identify, onboard, and monitor supplier performance to ensure reliability and continuity of operations.
• Conduct market analysis, competitive tendering processes, and supplier negotiations.
• Prepare and manage work orders, contracts, and associated documentation.
• Collaborate with regional teams to tailor strategies to local market conditions and risk considerations.
• Drive cost‑reduction initiatives while maintaining service quality and resiliency.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with experience in strategic procurement or category management.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, and finance teams.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Proactive, results‑oriented attitude and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
