Procurement Manager

About the role

The Procurement Manager will lead the acquisition of materials and equipment for construction projects, ensuring best‑practice procurement, cost control, and alignment with project budgets. You will work closely with the Quantity Surveyor (QS) and Finance teams to optimise stock levels and support reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in delivering best‑practice procurement for plant and materials.
• Liaise with QS and Finance on cost matters and monthly stock takes.
• Maintain pricing documentation and the procurement schedule.
• Oversee material and equipment purchases, adhering to project budgets and schedules.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement strategies for procurement.
• Maintain the site asset register and manage supplier credit limits.
• Obtain DOP information to meet BCAR obligations.
• Raise purchase orders, negotiate prices and terms, and lock in long‑term pricing where possible.
• Select suppliers, review market prices, and build strong supplier relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years experience in residential or commercial Irish construction.
• CIPS, CPSM or CSCP diploma in Purchasing & Procurement.
• Strong understanding of purchasing and cost systems.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
• Flexibility, strong communication, and ability to prioritise work.
• Positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
