Product Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

Hanley Energy is creating a new Product Cybersecurity Engineer position within its Technology and Cybersecurity department. Based at the Stamullen head office, the role operates on a hybrid model (three days on‑site) and focuses on keeping hardware, firmware and software products secure throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor product and component vulnerabilities using the internal traceability platform, triage findings and coordinate remediation with engineering teams.
• Manage Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs): request, validate and store supplier SBOMs, generate and maintain in‑house SBOMs, and keep them up‑to‑date as products evolve.
• Maintain product security procedures, including version control, patch management, secure update processes and credential/secret handling.
• Coordinate supplier security communications, track responses to vulnerabilities and maintain supply‑chain assurance documentation.
• Support external communications on product security, liaise with customers, EU and national cybersecurity bodies, and handle security enquiries.
• Maintain technical documentation for security claims, customer assurances and internal audits.
• Assist with coordinated vulnerability disclosure processes as they mature.

Required profile

• A relevant degree (e.g., Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering).
• Methodical, process‑driven mindset with a strong focus on cybersecurity.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering leadership, R&D, firmware, software, quality and supply‑chain teams.
• Willingness to develop deep expertise in product security under mentorship.
