Public Health Nurse – Traveller Health (Dublin North)

About the role

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a qualified Public Health Nurse to join the Traveller Health team in the Dublin and North East region. Based at the Ballymun Civic Centre, the role provides essential public health services to Traveller communities across Dublin North and surrounding counties.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver public health nursing interventions tailored to Traveller health needs.
• Conduct health assessments, screenings, and health promotion activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and local authorities.
• Develop and implement health programmes that address specific health disparities.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to health surveillance reporting.
• Provide education and support to individuals, families, and community groups.

Required profile

• Registered Public Health Nurse (Grade 2828) with current registration.
• Experience working with Traveller or marginalized communities is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication skills and cultural competence.
