QA Engineer

About the role

As a QA Engineer at CarTrawler, you will help deliver high‑quality, reliable software across both front‑end and back‑end systems. Working within a collaborative Agile team, you will design and execute manual test plans, identify defects, and champion quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to embed quality in every stage of development.
• Analyse business and technical requirements from multiple stakeholder perspectives.
• Design, develop, and execute detailed manual test cases, scenarios, and regression test plans.
• Support the creation and maintenance of automated tests to improve regression coverage and release confidence.
• Identify, document, prioritise, and track defects using Jira, and support bug triage and root‑cause analysis.
• Assess delivery risk and determine appropriate testing scope, coverage, and priorities.
• Validate functional and non‑functional requirements across front‑end and back‑end systems.
• Monitor and report testing progress, quality metrics, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives for QA processes, standards, and tooling.
• Mentor junior QA team members and advocate best practices in software quality and usability.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or a related testing role.
• ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent is desirable.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum or iterative development environments.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
