Quality Assurance Engineer

About the role

CarTrawler is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure the delivery of reliable, high‑quality software across both front‑end and back‑end systems. You will work within an Agile team, collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, designers and operations to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed quality from requirements to release.
• Analyse business and technical requirements from multiple stakeholder perspectives.
• Design, develop and execute detailed manual test cases, scenarios and regression test plans.
• Support the creation and maintenance of automated tests to improve regression coverage and release confidence.
• Identify, document, prioritise and track defects using Jira, and participate in bug triage and root‑cause analysis.
• Assess delivery risk and define appropriate testing scope, coverage and priorities.
• Validate functional and non‑functional requirements across front‑end and back‑end systems.
• Monitor and report testing progress, quality metrics, risks and issues to stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, standards, methodologies and tooling.
• Mentor junior QA team members and advocate best practices in software quality and user experience.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or a related testing role.
• ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent testing qualification (desirable).
• Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum or iterative development environments.
• Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies and defect‑management processes.
• Ability to create and execute comprehensive manual test plans and test cases.
