Quality Control Technician

About the role

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing in‑house QC testing on incoming raw materials, samples and finished products. Working with minimal supervision, the technician collaborates with QC Chemists, production, purchasing and external lab personnel to ensure product compliance and maintain a positive work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory operations, including selection and preparation of standards for sample comparison.
• Evaluate raw material samples against specifications and document results.
• Collect, review and file Certificates of Analysis for all raw materials.
• Document HACCP CCP and OPRP requirements and prepare samples for external testing.
• Organise, store, clean and dispose of retained QC samples.
• Clean, calibrate and maintain all QC lab instruments on a regular basis.
• Report problem areas within QC and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records, reagent stocks and laboratory supplies.
• Perform routine tests such as Brix, pH and turbidity on products.
• Adhere to GMP, GLP, safety procedures and test specifications.

Required profile

• Relevant bachelor’s degree.
• At least 2 years of experience in a quality control or laboratory environment.
• Strong critical‑thinking and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
