Quality Engineer – Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Quality Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Macroom, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. The role focuses on ensuring product compliance in a low‑volume, high‑mix environment and offers clear progression within an Irish‑owned company.

Key responsibilities

• Lead ISO and other regulatory audits.
• Identify root causes of non‑conformances and drive corrective actions.
• Collect, analyse and present quality data to senior management.
• Collaborate with Customer Service to monitor trends in complaints.
• Update procedures, policies and maintain quality KPIs.
• Create and close Corrective Action Reports using COPIS methodology for new processes.
• Manage supplier returns, credits and liaise on quality issues.
• Host quality meetings and produce specific quality reports as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in low‑volume, high‑mix manufacturing.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Proactive, direct communicator comfortable on the shop floor.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, look‑ups, complex formulas).
• In‑depth knowledge of ISO procedures and product compliance.
• Sheet‑metal fabrication processes (turret punch, press brake, welding).
• Understanding of basic electrical circuit drawings, cables, crimping, switches and lighting.
• COPIS methodology for process introductions.
