Quality Manager

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Quality Manager to join our technical team at our Athleague site. You will ensure that our meat‑based products meet the highest standards of safety, quality and regulatory compliance in a fast‑paced food production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Champion compliance with regulatory, BRC, TFMS, MPQAS and customer standards.
• Support and continuously improve the Food Safety Management System.
• Manage customer product specifications and develop new specifications with commercial, sales and production teams.
• Lead investigations of customer complaints, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Handle internal and external non‑conformances and prepare for audits.
• Work closely with DAFM representatives, attend weekly meetings and resolve issues.
• Support traceability programmes and respond to customer requests.
• Monitor customer KPIs and drive corrective actions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects and mentor technical and QC staff.

Required profile

• Qualification in Agri Science, Food Science, Food Technology or related discipline.
• Relevant experience in a similar quality role with people‑management responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, GMP, TACCP, VACCP and EU food safety regulations.
• Proven experience managing audits and liaising with external stakeholders.
• Track record of food safety compliance and quality systems management.
• Knowledge of animal welfare standards and Level 6 QQI Advanced HACCP certification are an advantage.
