R&D Design Engineer – Medical Devices (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an R&D Design Engineer to join a global medical device company on a contract basis. The role focuses on designing and developing medical devices to bring products to market, working in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototyping, test design, reviews, evaluations, verification & validation (V&V) and related protocols
• Preparation and presentation of design concepts and documentation
• Risk analysis and risk management activities
• Process development engineering for product manufacturing
• Introduce new equipment, materials and technologies into the development workflow

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline
• 1‑5 years experience as an R&D Engineer on medical device products
• Understanding of regulatory requirements for medical devices
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
• Availability to start ASAP (June)
• Based in Limerick with 2‑3 days onsite per week

What we offer

• Hourly rate €35‑€45 depending on experience
