Registered Nurse – Specialist Residential Service

About the role

Our nurses are at the heart of the "Building Brighter Futures" programme, providing specialist care for children with complex medical and disability needs in a residential setting. This permanent, shift‑based role offers 24/7 care within a fully equipped house supported by a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver individualised, person‑centred care in line with care plans and clinical judgement.
• Assess needs, develop and update care plans, incorporating recommendations from the wider care team.
• Manage and support Care Assistants, allocating tasks, providing guidance, leadership and training.
• Attend staff meetings, organise documentation and transport for external appointments and emergencies.
• Maintain accurate, detailed progress notes and medication cardex, ensuring seamless handover between shifts.

Required profile

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (RNID division).
• Knowledge of HIQA National Standards and Health Act Regulations for residential care.
• Full manual driver’s licence and eligibility to live and work in Ireland without restriction.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour rotating shifts, including days, live‑nights, weekends and occasional flexibility.

Required skills

• Proficiency in IT for documentation and communication.
