Research Associate / Laboratory Technician

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Research Associate / Laboratory Technician to join our biopharmaceutical laboratory team in Shanbally Cork. This junior‑level position offers hands‑on experience in a regulated bioprocessing environment, supporting multiple product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Support laboratory studies, investigations and upstream process activities across several products.
• Perform and document experiments in accordance with SOPs, GxP and safety standards.
• Handle microbial cell‑culture processes including cell thawing, seed‑train expansion, fermentation monitoring, sampling and analysis.
• Maintain laboratory documentation, data analysis and technical summaries.
• Assist with equipment maintenance, calibration and updates to SOPs and batch records.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet project objectives and ensure laboratory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science, Engineering, Biotechnology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of pharmaceutical industry or strong laboratory experience.
• Experience with aseptic techniques and biosafety cabinet operations.
• Exposure to microbial cell‑culture and upstream processing activities.
• Strong communication, organisational and documentation abilities.
