Security Architect – Cyber Security

About the role

The Security Architect joins Vodafone Ireland’s Cyber Security team to embed Secure‑by‑Design principles across projects. Working closely with technology and business stakeholders, the role ensures that security requirements are defined early and that solutions comply with local legislation and Group policies.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with technology teams and business units to document and enforce security controls for new and existing solutions.
• Participate in early‑stage project planning, providing security estimates, testing criteria, and acceptance criteria.
• Assess the impact of updated Group Cyber Security policies and standards on local projects.
• Represent Technology Security in project sizing sessions and gate reviews.
• Act as an internal security consultant, advising stakeholders on risk mitigation and compliance.
• Design security‑focused solution architectures and guide secure software development, integration, and testing.
• Conduct risk assessments and drive the Secure‑by‑Design process.
• Guide teams through compliance with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27000, and PCI‑DSS.

Required profile

• Proven experience in security architecture within a large, regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of Secure‑by‑Design principles and cyber‑risk management.
• Ability to influence technical and business stakeholders and work cross‑functionally.
• Excellent communication skills for documenting security requirements and providing guidance.
