Senior Accountant – Financial Controller

About the role
We are looking for a Senior Accountant who will act as Financial Controller for our client in Cork. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role blends day‑to‑day financial operations with strategic financial planning, governance and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports in line with deadlines and accounting policies.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax and statutory filings (VAT, PAYE, corporation tax, CRO).
- Manage intercompany reconciliations and support group audit queries, IFRS/GAAP updates and financial governance.
- Oversee core finance processes including AP, AR, GL, payroll, fixed assets and inventory, and drive a smooth month‑end close.
- Prepare local entity financial statements, internal management accounts and group reporting, acting as primary contact for external auditors.
- Optimise working capital, support treasury activities and manage banking relationships.
- Design and implement financial controls, accounting policies and drive automation in ERP usage.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- 7+ years of experience in accounting/finance, including reporting and team leadership.
- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
